SENDA AZUL, THE COSTA DEL SOL'S MOST SEAFARING VERSION

SENDA AZUL, THE COSTA DEL SOL'S MOST SEAFARING VERSION

A project by Turismo Costa del Sol and Diputación de Malaga, it offers hundreds of possibilities for getting to know and experiencing the sea.

The Costa del Sol is a perfect location, imbued with magic and adventure that offers locals and visitors infinite possibilities for fun and entertainment. Senda Azul is a catalogue of water and underwater experiences, in the main marine locations, with the most history, as well as the various harbours and marinas along the coastline.

This extensive range of activities was created to be enjoyed on your own or with others: family, friends, a partner, with kids, whether you seek relaxation, action or sports.
Kayaking, paddle surf, surf, snorkelling, windsurfing, scuba diving or fishing are just some of the experiences offered by sendaazul.es. There are also leisure activities such as floating parks, summer camps, marine gymkhanas, gastronomic tours or boating trips.

Senda Azul offers ideas to get to know or to become reacquainted with the province; experiences to begin an enjoyable seaside trip on the Costa del Sol. Beginning in Nerja, where you can sail to the spectacular Maro-Cerro Gordo cliffs; paddle surf up to the Cueva del Lobo Marino, or enjoy the famous Balcón de Europa from a kayak.

In Torrox, as well as scuba diving in the sea, you can visit the Roman Thermal Baths, the Torrox Lighthouse and its scenic overlook, or the Roman Necropolis. Vélez-Malaga has the Caleta de Vélez Marina, which offers great opportunities for boat and sailing lovers, including a wide gastronomic choice on board catamarans, where private events can be held.

In Rincón de la Victoria you can visit the Cueva de la Victoria, the Cueva del Tesoro or the Bezmiliana Castle-Fort, as well as paddle surf, kayak or enjoy different scuba diving or snorkelling experiences.

In Málaga city there is a wide range of choices: rent sail boats and catamarans, activities on a jábega or regattas, beginner’s lessons for sailing, surf, paddle surf, or even get your sailing license. Málaga also has numerous sites where you can learn, that can be visited and are closely linked to the seafaring culture: the Alborania-Aula del Mar Museum, the Cenachero statue, La Farola...

Continuing on to the Western coast, in Benalmádena you can visit the Molinillos Archaeological Site or the Isabela Shipwreck; you can also rent a boat, take boat trips, do sports fishing or activities that are not so well-known but are quite interesting, such as surfing on a jetsurf, a board with a small motor attached. Or you could dive with a seabob, an above and below water sled that will take you along the seabed at great speed.

Marbella offers historical and natural masterpieces such as the Vega del Mar Paleo-Christian Basilica, the Las Bóvedas Roman Thermal Baths, the Artola Dunes or the Río Verde Roman Villa. In addition to culture, Marbella offers a wide variety of entertainment activities for locals and visitors alike: paddle surf, windsurf, kayak, big SUP, catamaran tours, SUP yoga, and even a floating waterpark for kids on the Elviria beach.

The Western coast offers a wide variety of activities. Estepona has endless opportunities for everyone, such as scuba diving, romantic getaways on a boat, family activities, sea gymkhanas, sports fishing, a tour of the life of seafaring people and various gastronomic routes, of fishermen culture and other professions. There are also true historical-artistic milestones, such as the remains of the Roman Tower, the San Luis Castle or the Punta Doncella Lighthouse.

On the coast of Casares we have the Torre de la Sal (or Salto de la Mora) and the remains of Lacipo, in an area where you can paddle surf or become initiated in scuba diving.

Senda Azul offers over one hundred options to get to know and to immerse yourself in the sea on the Costa del Sol. An opportunity to fully appreciate the sea, and what it offers, shows and gifts us. A legacy to be taken care of and preserved.
